New Year's Goals
Focus
Focus is my "word" for 2017. I chose this word because it can mean so many different things. I am choosing to "focus" on many different aspects of my life.
I want to focus my time on things I need to get done and things I would like to do. I want to stop wasting time sitting around doing nothing and watch the shows I want to and indulge in the hobbies I have and want to start.
I want to focus my energy. Sometimes we get burnt out and wear ourselves thin. I want to prevent that this year by focusing my energy on the things I need to get done and the hobbies and things I chose to do.
I want to focus my attention. I want to be attentive of my actions, my thoughts, and my decisions. I want to think about the choices I am making, the things I chose to do, and the thoughts I am having. I want to become more aware of me.
I want to focus on many different aspects of my life. I want to focus on school and my assignments. I want to focus on my internship in the elementary school and my progress there. I want to focus on my hobbies, which include planners, intention, this website, photography, make up, and essential oils. I want to focus on this website (a hobby and an aspect of my life). Lastly, and most importantly, I want to focus on myself: my mental health, my physical health, my personal life.
Here are my specific and measurable goals. I have learned over the years that goals must be specific and measurable to be accomplishable. So here is my list!
- Lose 50 lbs.
- Workout 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes
- Learn how to use my GoPro (not as specific but it doesn't need to be)
- Learn how to take long exposure pictures
- Write one blog post a week
- Read one book a month
- Make healthy choices (lifestyle goals don't need to be as specific)
- Complete the 52 Week Savings Challenge
- Limit extraneous spending to $100 a month maximum (may seem excessive but so is my spending)
- 15 minutes a day of free research on anything I want to expand my knowledge
Some of these goals may seem frivolous or excessive but they are important to me. It may seem like a lot but there are only 10 and that seemed like a sufficient and round number to me. Hope you enjoyed my post and stick around for more!
Sincerely,
