"Perfection"
What is "Perfection" exactly?
What does it mean to be "perfect"?
In my personal opinion, perfection doesn't exist. At all. No one is perfect.
The world has a view of perfection: thin, fit, active, clear skin, large muscles, not a hair out of place. This view is shown in magazines, tv shows, movies, books, and especially advertisements. The thought of perfection is everywhere.
This is totally unrealistic. I don't think anyone can ever fit this opinion that society has placed on us. Someone may look perfect on the outside but they be having huge issues on the inside. This just shows that perfection is just a concept, a thought, not a tried and true idea. Everyone may have a different idea of what perfection means to them based on their personal preferences and their life experiences. So society can't predict what perfection means to everyone.
I personally do not see many models as "perfect". I know that they may have other issues going on, like being too thin or unhappy, and that their looks are not everything. I know I am not "perfect" (whatever that really is) by any means. I am not proud of my appearance but I have learned to accept it. I have acne all along my chin, my leg muscles are huge, and I should lose about 50 pounds (of course all my weight is in my stomach) to be healthy. But I will save my weight story for another post.
Hopefully this post finds someone who may need it; someone who needs the reassurance that he/she isn't the only person who feels that way.
